Mauro Finetto passes in MTB?

Mauro Finetto (classe 1985), professionista su strada dal 2008, sembra sia rimasto senza un contratto per il 2012. La sua giovane età e le buone qualità fin qui dimostrate non gli hanno consentito di trovare una sistemazione, un po' una sorpresa tra gli addetti del settore.
"Si diciamo che mi sono scontrato con talmente poca serietà da lasciarmi sbigottito" - riferisce Mauro - "poi c'è da dire che la sfortuna ci ha messo "lo zampone", e mi sono trovato per molte volte nel posto sbagliato al momento sbagliato e spesso con personaggi sbagliati. Ora sto aspettando qualche colpo di scena e nel frattempo sto valutando un possibile approdo nella MTB.
Il mondo del cross country mi è sempre piaciuto ed è sicuramente più adrenalinico del ciclismo su strada. Sto valutando molte cose ma credo che piuttosto che trovare una sistemazione poco dignitosa, per la mia serietà e la qualità dei miei risultati fino ad ora ottenuti, preferirei passare dalla strada alla mtb, preferirei fare una scommessa e lanciarmi nella disciplina dell'XC".
"O la va o la spacca" - conclude Mauro - "mi prendo ancora un po' di tempo per fare tutte le valutazioni del caso e nel frattempo molte ore di mtb per affinare la tecnica". Già alcune squadre di MTB ne hanno approfittato per contattarlo ma ancora nessuna firma ufficiale. Anche Bottecchia sembra interessata considerando che quest'anno sponsorizza il Team KM Sport, squadra gestita dai suoi 2 fratelli. I principali risultati di Finetto sono il 6° posto al Giro di Lombardia da neoprofessionista (dove è stato in lizza fino all'ultimo per la convocazione mondiale) e le 3 vittorie l'anno successivo (la piccola Amstel in Belgio e 2 tappe al Giro di Turchia) che gli hanno consentito il passaggio al Team Liquigas, lasciando la CSF Navigare (ora CSF Colnago) con cui aveva corso i primi 2 anni da professionista.

"Yes, i am surprised by this situation" - says Mauro - "then it must be said that I had some bad luck and I found many times in the wrong place at the wrong time and often with the wrong people. The world of cross country I've always liked and is certainly more adrenaline of road cycling. I am considering many things but I think that rather than find a team not serious, for my honesty and the quality of my results so far obtained, I would switch from road to mountain bike, I'd make a bet and throw me in the XC discipline".
"Either all or nothing" - says Mauro - "I take a little time to do all the assessments of the case and in the meantime i doing many hours of mountain biking to improve my technique". Already some teams have taken advantage of MTB to contact him but still no official signature. Also Bottecchia seem interested whereas this year sponsoring the Team KM Sport, team managed by his 2 brothers. The Finetto's main results are 6th place at the Pro Tour race 'Lombardia' in his first professional year and the 3 wins following year (the small Amstel in Belgium and 2 stages at the Giro of Turkey) that have allowed the signs with Team Liquigas, leaving the CSF Navigare (now CSF Colnago) with whom he had during the first 2 years as a professional rider.
