Anne Terpstra announced that a team will change the current season with his brother Rien Low and landed in Merida Biking Team. The brothers then left the Specialized MTB Team MPL.
"Our relationship with the team owner of MPL Specialized is so deteriorated that further progress is no longer possible. I feel deeply hurt and have therefore taken the decision to leave the team. My brother Rien also has made this decision. Nevertheless, I’d like to thank the sponsors for their support for the past 2.5 years”, Terpstra explained in a twitter.
Terpstra is now very happy to join the Merida Bassa family. "Merida Bassa is an excellent choice for me, both in short and in long term. In short term I can prepare properly for the qualification for the London Olympics. In long term I might join Rudi van Houts and world champion Gunn Rita Dahle. She is a great example to me", said the biker that studies medicine.
The team manager Peter Koperdraad is delighted with the unexpected new purchases:"These talents should be cherished and helped to further develop their skills. Merida is sponsoring many top athletes for years such as Rudi van Houts, but also Rachel Klamer, the tri-athlete who might participate in London this summer. We are now here to support and help them".
