History of Mountain Bike World Championships The UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships are the world championship events for mountain bike racing events in cross country, downhill, four-cross and trials riding events. It is organized by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), and winners are presented with a gold medal and are entitled to wear the rainbow jersey for a full year in future events of the same discipline. Unlike other UCI-sanctioned races, the World Championships is organized by nationality, not by commercial teams. The race is usually held towards the end of the season

History of Mountain Bike Olympic Games The Olympic Games are an important international event featuring summer and winter sports. The Games are held every two years, with Summer and Winter Olympic Games taking turns. Each seasonal games happen every four years. Originally, the ancient Olympic Games were held in Olympia, Greece, from the 8th century BC to the 5th century AD. The first "modern" Olympics happened in 1896 in Athens Greece. The celebration of the Games includes many rituals and symbols. For example the Olympic flag and torch, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies. The first, second, and third place finishers in each event receive gold, silver, and bronze medals.

History of Mountain Bike World Cup The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup is a multi-round mountain bike racing series that is sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale. The first World Cup series (which was composed of cross-country events), was held in 1989. The Downhill World Cup was inaugurated two years later, and the Dual Slalom World Cup was launched in 1998. The dual-slalom format - which involved knock-out heats with two riders on the course in each heat- evolved into four-cross (with four riders per heat) in 2002
